Important question about my Jag

RE: Important question about my Jag
If you are too worried about it then go half way, use a ***synthetic blend. That's what I use on my GTA, and it being a high torque engine with 125K miles in it and never had any problems. On my Santa Fe I have been using full synthetic since first oil change in 2002, no problems there either.
***Synthetic Blend, who would think of mixing synthetic and regular oil? The oil makers do it themselves, no big deal.

RE: Important question about my Jag
Don't worry about how thin the oil appears. As a young man servicing cars and pickups for a large service station, I thought the new at that time of multi-weight oils were too thin and the engines could not survive this stuff. Well as I drained this new oil for changes, I noticed it was no thinner in a hot engine as straight 30wt oil. Just think, the tolerances in a modern engine is .001-.003 in.
Thinner oil does a better job than thick oil in an engine. Multi-weight oils including synthetic retain their viscosity even when very hot and have the added advantages of flowing in super cold engines for superior lubrication on startup. Synthetic oils also withstand high heat better than conventional oil.
Forgive me if a lot of you owners probably already knew these facts, but I figured some may not and then have a better understanding of our motor oils.
