Injector rattle

Injector rattle
2003 Jag X-type 2.5l 5 speed manual AWD. When key is turned on there is a ticking noise. Upon starting engine, emits ticking sounds again for a second and stops. Was told this is due to injector building pressure & when started rebuilding pressure in injector rail. Is this an indication that the system is about to fail, or just annoying noise to the OCD owner ?

Try finding a place, that pressure cleans the injector system, or run a few cans of injector cleaner yourself.
I put a whole can in, when I have about a quarter tank, and then a full can when I fill up the tank a couple of times thereafter.
What it sounds like, is that you may have an injector leaking down, and this is usually caused by not changing the fuel filter enough. Most filters have a bypass internally, so the car will still run.
The fuel system cleaner cans are the cheapest way to go, and if necessary locate the injector that is clicking, and change it out......My 2 cents.......Mike
