Hey group, I’m still chasing my bank 1 and 2 lean condition but wanted to share and ask. Using MAF cleaner I started spraying looking for leaks and found the two vacuum lines leaking.
The line right behind the throttle body and the one going to the brake booster
So I put sealant on them but would like to fix them properly. I found this.
Has anyone ever changed these? I’m wondering how to get the old ones out without destroying the TB or manifold.
The pictures are of a different car btw, it’s too cold even in the garage today for me.

Jon, to remove these connectors, i found it easiest to use a small flat blade screw driver and to rest it on top of the plastic ring. You then push down on the connector and keep the screw driver holding the ring down. You should then be able to lift the fitting out. May need to use 2 fingers (one on each side of the ring) to get a consistent release.
Yes, you have to press in on that black plastic part simultaneously with pushing that hose in and then pulling the hose out while continuing to press the black part in. They usually stuck together
getting the brass fitting out without damaging the aluminum throttlebody manifold can be tricky but it’s meant to be replaced so if you’re lucky you could do it. I’m not sure how your system on your card set up because I don’t have the same vehicle
I managed to get mine out, but then I put a threaded fitting in its place and then connected to the plastic line with rubber hose clamps. However, I was working on an S type R and there is not very much room in that area in order to put a fitting in and get the hose to come down and do a 90° bend on to the new fitting. I ended up using a right angled fitting, but it was a major inventive effort, figuring out what to use what tools I had to make it work, and how to get everything in the tight little area that I had to work with. Spent a lot of time on it but luckily I was doing it when I was replacing the heater hose under the supercharger so I had a lot of stuff apart already. Good luck.
Thanks Guys but I’m thinking I wasn’t clear, I can get the hoses out as you described no problem, Problem is the fittings in the manifold are deteriorated and not locking in to provide a good seal. Has anyone ever changed these?
Aarcuda, my bad I didn’t read your whole post. I’m getting ready to do all intake gaskets and have the injectors professionally cleaned. Thinking the threaded fitting will be the way to go with the manifold on the bench.
