Potter, first off, welcome to the forums. You will find lots of information here on many subjects. But, we do ask a very simple thing, please introduce yourself in the "New Member" forum. Contrary to popular belief, we are a friendly bunch here and like to get to know one another. I think you will find this well worth your time.
As for your question, there are a few ways to do this, unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge there is no "switch" (either electronic or physical) built into the car that will allow this to happen. So, you will need to either install a series of switches for each door to prevent them from triggering the Interior Lighting Control module (which is what triggers the dome lights) or you will need to add a switch to the wiring leading up to the dome light. The second option is probably the easier one as it would be a single switch that would take out the dome lights and the floor lighting. You would have to find the black wire (connected to Pin #3 of the lighting module) and then install a switch in series with this wire. When the switch is open, the lights are disabled.
Sit back, enjoy a cup of Joe, do some looking around and I'm sure you will find a lot of interesting things here on the site.
