Default Issue with solenoids

Hello everyone, I have a 2003 xtype that was having shifting problems. So I replaced all of the selinoids but when I put it back together I no longer had reverse. The light on the shifter doesn't even light up. Does anyone have an idea what I did wrong putting this back together?

Steve,

I've moved your question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to X-Type forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model as I advised in my reply to your original Intro ( https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...ember-160195/- see post #5 ).

Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Graham

Steve: could you by chance have loosened the rear band bolt? This is located on the same side of the transmission as the fill/drain plug, but if loosened reverse gear will be lost.

Gregory, thanks for the info. I don't think I touched anything else outside the pan. I did however remove that whole block that all the selinoids are bolted to. Could there be something going on there?

Gregory, I looked into the rear band bolt that you mentioned. I definitely didn't touch that. What's the chances the reverse selinoid that I put in is a bad one? Which selinoid is the reverse selinoid?
Thanks for the help,
Steve

I have a link to an explanation of which solenoid does what here somewhere:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-x400-14/random-transmission-links-158779/

If you took out the whole valve body, iirc there is some special procedure for getting it back in right.

I can't quite remember it because I never did it.
