J Gate Module

J Gate Module
I need advice regarding my J-Gate. The lights do not illuminate, and my TCM is not responding. Could that be the reason I am having a non starter on my hands?
I have the dreaded Gearbox fault on my display, and P1643 got using SDD.
To give a background, I had just got my SDD and was tinkering with it, decided(since the car was a non starter) to do an upgrade to the TCU. I bricked it of course, and ordered for a complete set replacement unit from eBay. Set came in, but no TCM. I installed the set, car now cranks, but no start. I tried reprogramming the TCU, but no joy since I get no comms with TCM

Petrol powered x400 saloon with touch screen.

Well, I eventually got a used TCM from a donor car, and the JGate managed to show the lever indicator positions. Car started fine. But Is till got the gear lever fault on the message center.
I never tried configuring anything this time round, just delete DTCs, Now the indicator lights don't show the position of the the gear lever on the JGate display. Any advice?
