A buddy's friend bought a new 1974 XJ1 (most of the 50+ crowd will recall that this was back in the 'bad ole days' for Jaguar). He immediately drove it cross country from Atlanta,GA to Los Angeles and back. Upon his return, his comment to my buddy was, "I guess I bought a good one because it only caught on fire ONCE"!
On a personal note, I've been told that I haven't experienced enough punishment in my life. I stongly disagree, as the tally of British Iron that I've owned is soundly into the triple digits...some good...some fair...some bad...and some PROFOUNDLY BAD.....BUT JUST LIKE DOGS, I LOVE'M ALL. Cheers, Andy

hahaha good one. well im a mechanic for jags and i have to say that if you have money and u fix each little problem as it breaks then the car is not that bad. people usually let things pile up and that's the problem in my opinion. Love jags though and if I have the money i ll buy an XK (brand new!)

Very true.

As one who has owned and driven Jaguars since what c.3823 described as the 'bad ole days', it took me a while to learn that painful lesson.
