Default Jaguar OEM 02-08 X-Type Temperature-In-car Sensor C2S13944

Hi,

I am having trouble with my AC. It works ok when the car is at speed but there is nothing coming out when idling or going slow. Both cooling fans are working and the compressor seems to engage. Reviewing other threads, it was mentioned that the dash induction fan, which is usually always on, may be the culprit. I've checked and this fan doesn't seem to be working. It appears to be this part (JAGUAR OEM 02-08 X-Type Temperature-In-car Sensor C2S13944), but I don't see anything in the description that this is actually a fan for drawing in the interior air. Can anyone tell me if this is in fact have a fan in it or is there something else that runs and draws air in from the dash.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

That small fan is located to the side of the steering column, behind a small grille on the dash front, and yes, it should be running from the time the driver's door is opened until about 15 minutes after the engine is shut off. So, clearly if your fan is not running it needs to be investigated and possibly replaced. This is the temperature sensor unit as far as I am aware. I had this replaced in my wagon so I can check if this is the corresponding part number tomorrow (no access to my files at the moment).

Ok, I can now confirm that this is the correct number for the small aspirator fan, listed on my work order as "in cabin sensor" > C2S13944.

Are you saying that the blower fans are blowing and cooling the car at speed, but when stopped do the fans quit or the temperature doesn't cool?

For an AC problem you've got to check everything. Start with the basics though: Look at the refrigerant level. If that's not correct then system's not going to work properly. After you've squared that you can look at some of the other bits if necessary.

Yes, the car would cool at high speed but not at idle. The front cooling fans were all working, the blower motor was operating, and the compressor was engaging. I think I traced it to the internal induction fan not operating.
However, I have solved the on-going problems with this car by just getting rid of it and replacing it with an Infiniti G37XS.
I do want to thank everyone for all of their help. Hopefully, once the last of the kids are out of college, I will be replacing the G37XS with an F Type AWD.
