Hi
This is my first post on the forum and it s about my own car jaguar x type diesel 2.0 year 2003.
I am struggling with a issue that I couldn t figure even with the boys from halford. It started when I realised in the middle of the night that my car alarm is waking up the whole neighorhood. From that moment the alarm started every day and night at diferent times and the car functions got weird .The climate system works only in automatic mode and the buttons doesn t not respond at all.(climate buttons). Also the indicators works only sometimes and the high beam does not work at all.The central locking also works only sometimes and the car keep starting the alarm (I had to disconect the horn otherwise my neighbors would kill me).I have checked all the fuses and they are all good.Could you help me with some tips? Thanks a lot

These are all symptoms relatable to low battery voltage. How old is your battery? Is the car used often enough and long enough to keep the battery fully charged? If the battery is more than 4 years old, it is due for replacement (and please note that new batteries are virtually NEVER fully charged off the shelf, so make sure that it is charged before installation).

Sounds like a wiring fault, including corroded ground points.
Have a good look at the wiring loom on top of the front subframe , especially where it rubs on the radiator fan shroud.
Also check the various ground points on the inner wings.
Lastly check for corrosion in the fuse box base near the battery.
