Default Jaguar x type code p1234

My x type has the code P1234 I thought it was a bad fuel control module but when I replaced it the problems was still there. The engine will start but it seems as if it’s struggling to start. It’ll start and shut off about 2-3 times before it fully starts. Has anyone else had this issue or knows what I can do to fix it ?

P1234 relates to Fuel Pump Driver Module. Any idea when last time the fuel filter was changed? That is an inexpensive quick job. I'd do that first to see if that would help. If issue persists then you need to check fuel pressure at the rail.

FF is located near right rear wheel. No special tools needed, but you'll need to raise rear end for access. Any auto parts store will have a suitable filter - WIX or NAPA is fine. After replacement you could cut old one open to check for evidence of blockage.

Also, check all the grounding points on fuel delivery systems.

That’s what I thought it was so I changed it back in August. The filter itself wasn’t too bad it looked like it was replaced not too long before. But does anyone know what I should be looking for? My mechanic wants 500. I was hoping I could do something myself to avoid that bill

If it's not wiring weak connection (i.e. grounding points mentioned) then it could be a bad or faulty fuel pump driver module.

Got thinking of my posts, you do know the pressure sensor is under the hood by the fuel rail?

I’ll try replacing the sensor. Since I swapped the engine I still have the old fuel rail and all of its parts
