[align=left]Hi sexytshirtz,
I think the problem & noise with the brakes is the same I have had.
The Bosch Brakes need a little bit attention.
That means a mechanic should clean them, take out all parts and make them easy going with special brake-fat.
It was the same with my X-Type.
I was able to clean & fat it self.
All parts of the brake must easy go.
Oxidation and less fat can take an error to the correct function with the time.
Perhaps Bosch Company used less fat inside and it is no mistake to take a bit fat into the holes for better function.
My breaks are until I did that a SWEET DREAM, no noise, best function.

RE: jaguar x-type purchase nightmare!
Keep in mind that here in the states awd is all the x-type comes in. In europe you guys get all sorts of engines and even fwd if I recall correctly. So keep in mind the problems we have in the states will possibly be different than those you have elsewhere.

Excuse me ~Mcjaguar~,
I forget..., that inside of the United States you can go into prison, because you tell someone a good idea, but forget to recommend to him, to switch his own brain to +on+ or +working+ or +contacted+ or +not out of electricity+ or +what else can bring a brain to working correctly+.
SORRY, I´m infamous sad that US Citicens need tipps formulated that the greatest idiot can´t make any mistake.
FOR YOU PERSONALLY: Fat is not for brakedisk and that parts that take pressure to brake disks äh brake linings?!
If you had done your homework, you would know, that all X-Type has the same brakes!!!! Bosch, nothing else!
I hope body-fat is not your problem. Try your wifes cosmetic for skin, your blue black rings around your eyes looks then optimistic. Don´t smoke.
For SEXYTSHIRTSZ:::
There is a solution for the rest of your high quality Jaguar.
But drive not to ~Mcjaguar~ garage! He sents your Jag as recycled steal-package to china, russia or iran.
Bosch brakes ar build at Germany. I know the comPany well and what´s the problem with... and with Germany too.
*******
Bosch brakes not all 100% perfect because you think this should be so.
in case 90% good quality, use my recommentation and realise the missing 10% and you have a high quality brake with NO NOISE, THAT WORKS PERFECT!
*******
Best Wishes to all STUFFER

BTW I can't think of any other non-US member on here that I nor others can't understand.

RE: jaguar x-type purchase nightmare!
I've mixed emotions on the Jag. It's dang sure pretty inside and out. Can't get by the appeal of the car visually. Plastic is a little cheap, but the leather is nice. Too much road and drivetrain noise by a long shot. All these things are picky, but the one thing you can't ignore is that they are pretty high maintenance to keep them from being Found On the Road Dead.
Sometimes you can't even prevent it, being as Ford wired the cars. That's an uphill battle under any circumstance. The electrical doesn't scare me near as bad as the overall driveline issues. Not so arguably, the transfer case and tranny in these cars is one of the weakest ever installed in an AWD car. It's a walk on egg shells type of design. The engine seems to do well though, especially considering the problems Ford has with overheating from head issues (cracking, warpage). I don't hear about that as much in the Jag, which is a good thing!
It's certainly not the most bulletproof car on the market beside a Lexus or Mercedes (hit or miss there, some Mercs's are made in Alabama), but it's a get what you pay for type of thing also. It's no secret the only thing that is in the Luxo market that drops value quicker than a Jag is Range Rover. This means you an get in them CHEAP after only 2 or 3 years. If you're buying at half the original sales price, perhaps you can factor in the cost of some repairs and come out OK. Depends on how you think.
Would I buy one NEW? Oh hell no..... I'd rather flush my money down the drain in Vegas for a weekend and get something out of it - if only for a few days. Used however, if you get in one for a good price then you can put some of the saved change back for future repairs, and I suggest you do. All that matter is whether you like it or not and you feel you spent your money on something that pleases you.
