I just registered but I have a 2004 late model, and I guess you don't have enough for me to do a survey. Do you want me to list it as an 05 since is shares the changes with the 05?

It should be entered as a 2004.5, and as such it will be combined with the 2005s.

The 2004.5/2005 isn't in the survey yet, but it's only five cars short. So we'd be there if only a few more owners joined.

We have updated our reliability stats for the Jaguar X-Type to include owner experiences through December 31, 2012.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2004: 94, moderate

2003: 37, low

Very small sample sizes in both cases, which could explain the different between these two years.

We'll have further updates in May and August. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.

I've had my 2003 for a few years now, just turned 30K miles. Very little problems with the car. New front and rear sway bar bushings, new battery and that's about it. runs great hasn't stranded me yet. Love the car.

Thanks for all the work keeping this going. Looking forward to when there are enough 2005 cars to be included in the reports.

I just checked, and we're actually just a single car short of the minimum. Ideally we'd have at least another 10-15 signed up, but a single 2005 will get the year in the survey.

Thanks!

Note that while it is possible to post past repairs to the site, the stats only count repairs that occur after you join. The next round of the quarterly survey will be in April.

Only if they made significant changes part of the way through the model year. I'm not aware of any.

Our reliability stats for the X-Type now include owner experiences through March 31, 2014, making them nearly a year ahead of other sources.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2004 X-Type: 69, low, small sample size
2003 X-Type: 52, low, very small sample size

Thank you, once again, everyone who has been helping. Next update in August.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

We've updated our reliability stats for the X-Type to include owner experiences through September 30, 2014.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2004 X-Type: 108, high, small sample size
2003 X-Type: 95, moderate, very small sample size

Additional participants would be very helpful. (I'd love to be able to drop the disclaimers and cover all model years.)
