If you're looking for cheap 18's, I wouldn't do those. The Volvo Venator wheels are cheap on ebay and would work and suit the car.

Holy crap that is a good deal! I'm still interested - be sure to get hubcentric rings, as I assume they are 65.1mm and the X-Type is 63.4mm. The bolt circles (5x108) and offsets (40-something) should be perfect though.

Yeah, i saw them on craigslist and decided to pounce on them! only two of the wheels have light curb rash and the way he described them, it really isn't that noticeable. not to mention i got chosen to "test" nitto's new tires and review them so they are sending me a set of 225/40/18's for free. One quick question though, are the hubcentric rings completely necessary? I just got new snow tires mounted on another set of wheels and while I was changing my front brakes yesterday, I noticed that they had lost one while mounting my new tires. Will this cause a vibration while i'm driving?

Cool. I happen to be "testing" Nitto tires at the moment also. They are mega loud with tread noise, otherwise ok.

Which ones are you testing? I got signed up for the new nitto motivo. I finally got the wheels today. They need to be polished, and don't look perfect, but I'll get some pics soon

FYI I got a set of aftermarket MOMO's with hub rings on my x-type and ended up going back to factory wheels due to out of round imbalance. This with hub rings which are not perfect.

Is the wheel bent or out of round? I have had hubcentric rings on nearly every set of wheels I've owned for my cars (more than 30 sets of wheels by now) and have never had an issue - unless the wheel is actually bent or suffers from a production error.

There is always an option to find Aruba or Proteus. they look quite good and it's possible to find a cheap set of them today. I've seen a set of 4 for ~ $400 on ebay.

Is something wrong with your rocker molding or are my eyes seeing stuff?

It looks better than my rocker...

Car looks good with those on there. A short drop and it would even look better!

My car is actually lowered about an inch from stock, and somehow I broke a clip for my rocker panel this winter. I'm guessing I got ice and snow built up in there and then went over a bump which broke the brittle clip. I'm still looking for a way to replace the clip that is better than a small wood screw or 10-32

And to nardo, I got these specifically because they were only $200 for 4 of them. Below are the wheels that now are home to my winter tires. They are stern st15's. This picture was also taken before I lost my right front corner marker reflector.

I personally think that the old wheels looked a bit more sporty, but the new wheels look more refined and like a jaguar should. I would love to hear your opinions however

Yeah, I noticed why you bought them. The price was really sweet!

It was more like general thoughts to others who may decide to go for a new set of wheel in the future.

Sounds good! Thanks for your input! I honestly think that shopping around for the right used rims is the best way to buy them cheap. That's how I've always done it!

Well, it's true. If you want to save money you better to look around. Of course you have to spend a lot of time to find a proper ones but on the bright side - you got a great deal for a nice product!

I prefer the Venators. They look more expensive in their simplicity.

i agree, the venators do look really good. I miss the extreme backspacing of the st15's though... The great part about the venators is that they have the same center bore as the stock hub so there is no need for a centric ring! I will also be posting pictures soon of the new center caps that I am getting 3d printed with the jaguar logo to replace the volvo centers

Jeremy,
I went back 5 times to the Discount Tire due to vibration. Ultimately they took the new Momo's back with hub rings and put original Jag wheels and the vibration was gone. This was with all new Yokohama's.
