Knock Sensor Bank 2 Location??? Jag. X-type 3.0L

and it seems i cant get the RPM over 3K, I also notice my idle going up & down. I rest the codes, started the car back up and now im getting the same code (knock sensor bank 2 low input) and a mis fire # 5.. whats going on!!! shoud i drive this car down to a used car lot and pick me up a BMW??

Vince, the knock sensor is located on top of the engine, but underneath the intake. So, you will need to remove the intake so you can access the very top of the block. The JTIS also talks about having to remove the fuel rail and disconnect a coolant hose (ie, you will also have to drain the coolant system) to access the knock sensor. Doesn't sound hard, just a lot of stuff in the way before you can access the sensor.

My knock senor code might be due to a bad coil on # 5 cyl., I swapped coils from #5 to #2 cyl. and now my codes are pulling a mis fire on # 2 so it is a bad coil.
Will change and see if the knock sensor code goes away for good after a reset.

Don't worry about knock sensor #2 or bank 2. As said, there is only one knock sensor on the AJV6, but standard OBD II P codes for all cars give a placeholder in the P code list for 2 knock sensors as a lot of engines use two. The AJV6 engine management system is programmed to use bank 2 as the default reporting code for THE knock sensor.
This is just a theory, but if you have a very dead ingition coil on the #5 (that you moved to #2), this might have caused a missfire enough for the knock sensor to have detected a knock, but enough out of the range the knock sensor could reset engine timing, which the ECM read as a knock sensor out of range too.
I'd replace the coil, of course, then erase the codes and see if the knock sensor resets. They do go bad on AJV6s. I've seen a few now that they're getting higher mileage.

Are you sure - we're talking about a NA 2.5/3.0 Gasoline engine, not a diesel. I've had both early and late MYs completely apart and only one KS sensor. I have experience with NA configurations, not Europe and we don't get diesels here, but I'm assuming that the diesel might be your reference to a second knock sensor. The other possibility is the AJV6 variation in the S-Type. It uses a left/right, but more like an upper left lower right knock sensor config. They OBD out under the standard P0327/8 P0332/3 protocols, but the LH is really under the intake manifold in a config similar to the X variation. But, all NA X variations only use the P0332/3 protocol for one sensor.

same issue
i'm curious did this fix the issue? My 03 3.0 is throwing the same code P0322 Knock Sensor Bank 2 low Input. the car is acting very wierd. sometimes and not all the time at WOT or a high RPM shift it just bogs right down and acts like it's misfiring.
It also threw code C15AA which I'M guessing may be the DSC fault code? Everything i can find on this code says it's a manufactures specific code.
has anyone else had this problem? any help is greatly appreciated.

v8 misfire problems
i could realy do with a bit of advice i have a 1998 jaguar xj8 soveriegn in the past six months i have had a few of problems it runs great when it is cold but once it gets warm it starts to have a misfire i put the odb2 computer on it which told me to replace the flowing a coil pack, four spark plugs a o2 sensor which is all on the o/s bank and now i have just replaced the coolant temp sensor i took the car for its mot and it failed on emissions the hydro carbon where through the roof. i would be greatfull if anyone would be able to help with my siuation.

hello everyone my name is joey and im from pa I have a 2004 jag s type 3.0 that has the engine light on and from a dead start if I accelerate past 2000 rpm's the car starts bucking and knocking and if I come of the pedal it go's back to normal I already replaced the knock sensor 3 months ago and it started again but intermittently can anyone help and also are there 2 knock sensor's on this car?

If you have replaced them recently, then I would not worry about it. If you are finding it hard to get your hands on the upper intake gaskets at your local auto parts store, ask them for the upper intake gaskets for the same year Lincoln LS 3.0L engine. The engines share a lot of components, one of which are the gaskets in question.
