Lambda sensor removal help please!
Hello everyone, I am in the middle of replacing the lambda sensor (post cat, bulkhead/firewall side). My lambda socket fits ok but no room to get a breaker bar in as it presses against the brake pipes. I have read somewhere on here that they had to bend spanners and weld sockets onto it. Just wondered if anyone had done the job and what methods and tools they used. On the plus side, the plug change has gone well . Thanks for any help.

I use an 02 sensor tool that slips over the sensor and wire and has a 2" extended piece to slip in a 3/8" ratchet. Good luck with that, I use a pry bar against that part and anything to pry against on the engine to crack it loose. Then take it out by hand. If your replacing the sensor, spray it with penatrant(never do that if your reusing the sensor cause the oil will damage the sensor since it has breathing ports to detect exterior 02 content for reliable operation).

Thanks for the info Brutal, much appreciated, the tool you use, do you mean something like this, but maybe with a longer extended piece?

The type I'm using now is this, but as you must know theres not a lot of room for it.

The last one I thought of was this one, but I doubt I'd be able to get enough leverage on it.
