Default Leaking valve cover

Hello Jag enthusiasts,

I have a considerable amount of oil build up on my 2003 X-type valve cover after every run.
It’s located at the far left of the driver valve cover right at the far left plug/coil.
I realized there is an almost invisible crack where the bolt fastens the coil to the cover.

Same engine oil is found in the PCV valve hose even though both the valve and hose have been replaced recently.

Any help?

Worried Jaguar owner.

Remove the cam cover and inspect it for cracks once it's cleaned.

Below is the cylinder numbering for the AJ-V6 fitted to the X400. Based on the diagram, which area of the engine are you noticing the oil leak from?

So to remove the cam cover from Bank1, the inlet manifold must first be removed. Before going any further, remove the IMT valve, which is directly above the area in question, from the inlet manifold and check the seal as oil my be present around valve. The seal should be green, if it's black, it should be updated with the green seal so there are no vacuum leaks.

Is the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) on the instrument cluster on? If so, what Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are stored?

Hello NBCat,
There is no MIL indictator on the instrument cluster.
However, i get "ECU unavailable" showing up occasionally.

Thanks.
