Location of knob/lever that allows shifting from Park to Neutral?
Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum. I have a 2002 X Type that is now stuck in the garage and cannot be towed because I cannot shift out of park to neutral. The engine won't start and there is a "gearbox fault" indication.
I have done a search and read a number of replies here but still cannot find this knob/lever to allow me to shift to neutral so that the car can be towed.
Can someone help me by being a bit more specific as to where this knob/lever is located?
Thanks

unless you know what yourer looking at with a pic youll not know what to do. Its not a lever but a round circle with 2 bars sticking out you rotate while pulling out of park. You can also use vegitable oil to lube the floor and tires and slide it out, or... use front wheel dollies under the front tires that pick up the car with a lever( we use them at work and any good wrecker should have something like them) or...take off the metal plate under the care that covers the shifter cable, remove the cable from the trans lever and shift the trans lever into neutral
