here across the pond Tibbe keys are not as common. Even most of our locksmiths don't have the equipment to cut and program Tibbe keys.
There are swarms of them on Ebay UK.There are also the blank replacement blades for the flip keys etc.
Can we get the link for the person who cut the tibbe key? thx

Jaguar Blank Remote Flip Key Blade - S, X type, - Tibbe Blade | eBay
$5 plus postage. They will cut it.

Be aware there seems to be several types of blades

JAGUAR X-TYPE KEY 2002 to 2007 MODELS | eBay
The basic key x 2 that I bought
Fobs also available but MUST BE 315Mhz for the USA
( UK is 433Mhz so no use in the USA)
JAGUAR S-TYPE X-TYPE X350 4 BUTTON KEY FOB TRANSMITTER 315 MhZ NO BLADE C2C24317 | eBay
With the much greater distances to key sources in the USA it would be helpful to all if locations that can cut keys (and post them ) were listed. That would make users very happy.
Meanwhile can I suggest folks find out the Tibbe code (Google Tibbe for instructions etc) and consider geting one or two basic keys cut at so little cost.
Provided you already have two keys you can programme the new ones.

I wish my father were alive to read your last post, Standard Sofa: He was adamant that my misspent youth was of no benefit to anyone.
Glad to hear my suggestion to use brute force and a length of wire to break into your (own) World-Class Automobile worked. A tip 'o the hat to the Mel Brooks movie Blazing Saddles: "We do'n need no stinkin' locksmiths!"
(Now; Hide that wire and wedge in your trunk for future use, when you run into someone who has also locked themselves out their own car)
Don't forget to update your signature or profile about where you are located, and what the year, model and engine for your X-Type is.
Future questions you post are more easily answered with that basic info.
(And please do remember when you really want to say "Thanks" to someone for a useful post, just hit the "Thanks!" button below their post!)
So... Where are you going to hide the spare key for when this happens in the future? May I suggest on top of a rear frame member, taped with about ten wraps of Duct Tape.

Hi - can anyone help with this poser?
My 2002 X-type has decided to go into complete lockdown. Neither the key fob nor the key will open the door, so it's just sitting there on my drive with a week's groceries locked in the boot.
I've tried replacing the battery in the fob but no difference. Any ideas? Has anyone else experienced this before? Even my local Jaguar dealer seems at a loss!
I'm in London, UK by the way.
