Locking wheel nuts

Locking wheel nuts
Hi all. Can anyone tell me if these universal locking wheel nut removal kits as sold on ebay etc are ok to use on my x-type locking nuts? Problem i have is i tried to remove the nut with the original jaguar key and the bloody thing has sheered leaving a chunk of the key stuck between the wheel and nut. Should be able to remove the piece of sheered key but my main issue is getting the locking nuts off. Spoke to ats and national tyres and they both quoted £20 per wheel. Any help/advice gratefully received

See my reply in your other posting.
These keys are known to be made of poor soft metal.
If you are not aware the domed part should rotate so that its slots align with the base part . Then the key should go right in to the base prior to undoing the whole thing.
The two parts are often rusted together in the aligned state so many folks are unaware they are two part items.
If they are not aligned then forcing the key on is a bad bad approach!
At least you can find out the code and at worse pay £40 from Ebay.
Search on Ebay for Jaguar locking wheel nuts.
Be aware of adverts showing some nuts with a letter written on the top.
There are lots of comments in the UK Jaguar forum!!!
£20 is the sort of quote I would expect is one of the extractor tools were the answer. Again see my other reply.

I know the key code but theres every one except mine listed.
IIRC some Rover ones are the same. certainly looking at Ebay for Rover locking wheel nuts, some are there with just a letter and look the same as my Jaguar one.
LAND ROVER / RANGE ROVER LOCKING WHEEL NUT KEY CODE G
Sods law -there are not many there - another.
DEFENDER DISCOVERY 1 2 RANGE ROVER P38 - LOCKING WHEEL NUT KEY CODE A (5114)
It would appear that LR is another -source maybe a new key ?

UK Ebay searches for Land Rover shows :-
WHEEL NUT KEY CODE A & B & C & D & E & F & G & H & I & J & K & L & M & N & P & R & S & T & U & V & W
all seem to be available as Land Rover items
I read that O Q X Y Z were not issued
Correction from another of my posts , I said I & U were also omitted but I can see both of them for sale.
Happy hunting.
