Loose Tachometer Needle

Loose Tachometer Needle
Hi guys,
So I went over a pothole and the tachometer needle has come loose. When I took the instrument cluster out to diagnose, you can wiggle the needle from side-to-side whereas the other needles (i.e. speedometer) are all stationary.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

hesed, unfortunately, sounds like you have a failed instrument cluster at this point that unfortunately, will require being sent off to a specialty shop to be repaired. You may be able to tear the cluster apart and super glue the broken plastic back together, but I think you wil find this to be a temporary thing as the plastic has a teflon aspect to it that makes gluing it together very difficult. You would have to literally melt the plastic and stick a metal wire in the plastic to restore the structural integrity and I am not sure how easy that may be.

Thanks Thermo for the reply. So update on this, I bought another x type cluster and realised I couldn't just swap it out as it needs to be coded to my car, otherwise it won't start. I'm taking it to a Jaguar specialist today so hoping he can fix the old one, otherwise it's going to be AU$470 to fix it either way (loose needle or replacement cluster) with the Jaguar dealership.
