Hi I am new to the forums so hope I have posted in the correct place.
I bought my 2005 2.0 diesel X-Type jag aprox 6 weeks ago when I was driving along the glow plug light came on and the car cut out, I took it to the garage as I don't know much about diesel engines and they put it on a code reader, it came up with injectors or fuel pump, and I was told by the mechanic 9 out of 10 it will be the injectors, I sourced a second hand set out of a perfectly good running car with a busted turbo, I fitted them into my car and the mechanic coded them in now car wont start and there is no fuel to injectors when u crack open the unions, now the code reader says low fuel pressure Can anyone HELP please need the car fixed urgently for work.
Thank you in advance.

You're going to have to check for proper operation of the fuel pump, to include electrical connections and output pressure. Though your problem may not be the fuel filter I think it wise to replace since you've replaced the injectors. Also advised since car is new to you and you don't know when last time filter was done.

I'm sorry - I'm in the States and don't have any experience with the Jaguar X-Type diesel engines (they weren't sold here anyway). In reading my Haynes manual I do see that the fuel pump is mounted on the engine and is mechanically driven. The only electrical hurdle I can find reference to is the inertia fuel cut-off switch, which is designed to cut off fuel supply in event of a collision. This switch is located behind driver's side footwell kickpanel; if it's tripped you reset it by depressing the button at top of the switch. The fuel pressure sensor is on the fuel rail and is not detachable; yours is working however. Have you considered checking for fuel pressure at the filter? There are three quick-release connections on the fuel filter: Supply from pump, supply to fuel rail, and return to tank. If you disconnected pump supply then cranked engine that should tell you something. If you had fuel going into the filter but not coming out (low pressure indicated on the fuel rail) then the filter's blocked. Fitting a new filter C2S27643 would be the solution - and not a dear one either. Again, I'm just going from general troubleshooting thinking; because Jag diesels are prevalent in the UK maybe someone there who's had similar issue can confirm what I'm advising or offer other help. When you get your car back in operation I'd be interested in knowing how you found the problem and what the fix was. Hopefully it's not the fuel pump; part number is JDE8088, very expensive and looks to be complicated replacement.

Well its good news got injectors back today all sorted they looked like new ones, fitted them in the car turned the key and my car came to life again, took it for a test drive and its all good now drives great no more glow plug light when I put foot down so the original problem I had before I took injectors out is fixed, I'm well pleased first time I have drove it properly since owning it thanks to SWINGWING who tried to help and gave me advice.
