No go on craigslist there are plenty of cars for sale under private sale.
Dude I haven't seen anything on craigslist (ever) that I could buy way below kbb and sell for a profit! Or I guess you could project a profit but you'd end up getting the same or less than what you paid for it if you wanted to sell...

No Aquil You got to be patient and look on craigslist and send them offers. At first they will be like no Ill keep you in mind or smething and maybe after a weeks some of them acept and 98% dont. You just got to be patien ton doing this and knowing what to buy. I bought all sedans no trucks or anything because this is what I know alot about. my dad knows alot of cars also s he helps me alot too.

Yeah but if they couldn't sell the car for what they were trying to sell it what makes you think your going to be able to sell for profit when you add another owner to the cars history (especially bad if you don't own for very long) and not to mention tax, title and plates add some money...

I agree with jasonzimbranmuffin I got some amazing deals on Craigslist as well. most people overprice their cars at first, and end up selling it much cheaper especially when they need the money. But its also risky, you could get stuck with a lemon if you don't know what you are doing.

But still people know what they have in it...you would generally think they know what they have as well and what it is worth. Anything I've seen that is a good deal is generally that way for a good reason! I haven't found a single Mercury Mountaineer on craigslist to make ANY profit on it. I'm looking for one under 80k miles that I'll be able to buy and get a warranty, tax, title and plates for under 10k...hasn't happened yet...

lol BO
Well Aquil Here I dont have taxes which is a PLUS++. I bought the maxima on te local newspaper. No on these days look in the paper. So I bought it. The 2002 jetta with 60k he listed it on craigslist for $9900. I offered him $6,500 and after about a month and half he sent me an e-mail if I am still intrested in the car so I said yeah if you wanted $6000 for the car. He said ok(he was leaving to Isreal for good in 2 days so he needed to sell it fast). So when I went and saw the car and was nice, but he never changed the tires or brakes on the car at 60k! So I made some exagerations and told him these might have to be fixed and he said yeah we will talk about the price then. So he said I will let it go for $5200. I said I will do $5,000 today. And as all you know I bought the car for $5,000. Clean carfax, 1 owner title in hand. Look it up on kbb.com 2002 Jetta Gls Turbo 5 speed with 60k with premium sound, leather, sunroof, heated seats. etc. He didnt really know about cars. If you open your eye and know what your doing you can buy some nice cars at cheap prices.

I wouldn't say everyone knows cars...most are idiots but they know what the least they'll sell you a car for. There are plenty of dumb people here, they just think their stuff don't stink!
