I'm sorry for "pissin u guys off" that wasn't my aim. jags are one of my favorite cars, I own an jx6 and love it. I also have a Ford Mustang and a Buick REndezvous, and love these cars. I was genuinly just asking. I was just wondering because personally I think the x-type is kinda an embaressment to jaguar, jsut because from what I understood it was just a crossover from a taurus and mercuty sable, and I thought they justput a jag emblem on it to get more money, but i was clearly mistaken.
My main point of this thing was to say how I really enjoy the SAble, and that the x-type must be a really nice car if it is actually an improvement over the sable, which was my question.

My grandma had a bike, cause she don't know how to drive. If she did, she sure wouldn't want a sable. She would be disgusted.
I had people tell me already, Jaguar is Ford. So, lots of people don't know the fine details but only know a one liner. I call these kinds of people idiots.
I had the same issue with the Saab. Oh it is a GM. So i would say, well look the the piece of shittoyota you are driving. At least i got a European car...

Its the same with the Jag X and the Ford Mondeo, although I would never run down a Ford Mondeo as I drove one for years and had zero problems with an excellent Tdci engine, but, they may share the same platform, but they are soooo different!

i am not going to bed yet....hehehe....not unless it is JLO...
Saab is a very good car. Would i get another one, yes I would. Best safety a car can offer and drives extremely well. In addition, looks better than most cars out there.

Yeah, space is at premium, very tight back there, but it looks like the X type is tight in the rear as well. BMW 3 series has the same problem...I think Saab is slightly longer or seems to have more legroom than 3 series/X type. Maybe i am wrong...

Actually I'm unbiased to all of the cars that everyone has posted about. My uncle has a 01 taurus and I think its a pretty decent vehicle. Comparing our x-type to a jag is like saying my ford explorer is the same as a lincoln aviator, which is extremely wrong! We are talking about a car that is fully loaded with the best possible materials with many options not available in the ford line-up. I do not know of a ford suv or car that has air ride in the suspension. Saying the sable is like a jag is like saying a ford mustang is the same thing as the lincoln ls as they have the same under carriage which is obsurd. The stang is sports car and the ls is a sedan which the only similarity is the frame of the car. I happen to like the taurus/sable in the ford lineup but I absolutely love my x-type. The car drives like a european car not a over suspended 16" stock rim american car. The dohc 3.0 in the taurus/sable is really actually a quick car but I wouldn't be taking it over my dohc engine in my jag! Not to mention you could pay nearly 30k for a fully loaded sable (well when they were available/ produced) and pay 32k for a jag that is standard with the sable that would have to be stocked with options. Not to mention we would still have awd and still hold the upper hand by a long shot! I'd pay 10k extra just for the look the jag has over the taurus/sable! And I even like the taurus/sable!

Well I live in chicago and fwd is pretty nice, that car never gets stuck in the snow. The sable fit in my garage, but I have a problem with my xj6, it's just too long for my garage. Love those kinda problems.
You proved my point tho aquill, you are paying 10,000 extra for a very simular car just for the jaguar logo. And it does look nicer, but compare a x type to alot of other cars u can get for 30,000, and i'm sure you can find better. i think ford just made some extra cash by marketing the X type as though it was a different car, and the advantages that the x type do have, I don't believe add up to 10 thousand extra.
