Multiple Misfire and Cruise not available?
I recently purchased a 2002 3.0 X-Type and have not have a chance to drive it much due to the above issue and just kind of looking for help and troubleshooting advice.
Here is the background:
2002 3.0 X-Type w/ about 70k on it
Car is in limp mode due to misfires in 1, 3, and 5
Valve cover gaskets and plugs have been change and with it being all of a single bank I didn't think it would be the coils?
I read that this is "commonly" caused by the IMT seals, but where exactly are they and does anyone have a picture of location?
Vaccum Lines? Which ones to check and where?
Fuel "seems" to not be an issue.?
Any tips or tricks for troubleshooting a multiple misfire in 1,3,5 w/ cruise not available and an Service Engine light won't rev past 3-4k?

I had this very same problem 2 months ago. First thing I checked was vacuum hoses. My culprit was the large diameter hose running from the PCV valve on the A-side bank (close to front of hood) to the intake for the positive crankcase ventilation. The original hose is smooth and had a 2" long rip in it. When I twisted the hose back and forth it either closed the rip or opened it wide open.
The updated hose has reinforcement ribs for strength.
Hope you find the problem soon. You can always take your car to an Advanced Auto or Auto Zone and have the codes run.
