bigbigbrig, I am sure with enough massaging of the tubing, you can make it work. But, I ask this simple question, what are you looking to gain from this? The stock muffler is pretty free flowing. So, if you are looking for any performance gains, they are going to be minimal. If you are going after a sound, you may get that, but it is still a gamble as to what the sound is going to be as the mufflers are merely a single part of a complicated "equation" of what the final exhaust note is going to be.
So, unless you are getting the mufflers for free and you have the ability to massage the piping yourself (and weld it back together), for the money that it is going to cost you, the gains are not going to justify the cost for most people. But, your car. You do as you see fit.

bigbigbrig, for what you are after, I would talk with a muffler shop and have them put some tips on the car for you and call it good. Worst case, they can modify the muffler to give you a 4" exit and that will probably give you the growl that you are after too. Probably be out the door for $100 or so.
