My 02' X-Type Repair Story
Hello there Jaguar Family,
So I purchased my Jag X-Type (5-Speed) in 2016. Became a Member here in 2017. I did some slight mods to the car. Exhaust , Changed the color from Silver to Alpine Green. Car ran like a dream. UNTIL April of 2019. It suddenly cut out. Lost power to everything. I took it to my Local Shop who I TRUSTED over the years. They claim they diagnosed the problem. No Charge. I was told the car needed a whole new Engine Harness. Brand new they are around $1,200. I was able to find a used one (-$170 eBay) Of course the labor would be around 20 Hours close to $3,000.... but we are not sure if that will fix the problem." I was shocked at the whole situation. So I had it towed and put in the garage , tucked it in with a car cover. After researching tons of shops and reading reviews...... it looked like I found the right shop for a second opinion!!!. Fast forward to April of 2022. Finally found the answers. All it needed was a Fuel pump. There were some wires somehow disconnected for ignition coils 1 and 2. With Diagnosis and Fuel Pump repair at $1,400. Back on the road on April 28th. Only 137,000. I will post pictures soon
