Default Is my daylight sensor gone bad?

I have noticed my auto rear mirror is not working and my auto headlights are coming on all the time. Could this be a fuse or a seondor going out?

where can i get information on the different fuses inside the X-Type.

Download the JTIS manual from the stickies above.
There's also a handbook download if you don't have one.

Loadmaster, based on what you are describing, it is sounding like your photocell that detects the amount of light is failing. I would want to confirm with drawings, but the photocell is powered off of the same circuit as the headlights. So, if the headlights are working, then your photocell circuit has power.

If you want more help, let me know. I am on travel, but will be getting home shortly and can then give you step by step instructions on how to diagnose this problem.

Loadmaster, diagnosing this is going to be easy in the number of checks. The hard part is going to be accessing what you need. What i need you to do is to access the electrical plug for the rear view mirror. This is most likely going to involve pulling the mirror down. From there, undo the plug for the rear view mirror. Now, with your headlight switch in the "AUTO" position, do your headlights come on? If no, then this confirms your auto lamp light sensor in the rear view mirror is bad and you will need to order a new mirror. If the lights are still on, then you have a wiring issue and I will give you other checks to make.

Hope this helps.

Loadmaster, something else just struck me (no, it wasn't the wife swinging a cast iron skillet, LMAO). Do you have anything hanging or pasted to the front windshield or rear view mirror? All of this can possibly affect how much light is getting to the sensor, and therefore making it "think" it is dark outside. Something as simple as an air freshener can cause havoc. I would hate to see you spend money on a new mirror when the fix is nothing more than pulling something off of the mirror.

Some of the things that I have heard of causing this is people that are required to have parking stickers visable for where they live and they stick them to the back of the mirror, bulky necklaces that hang from the mirror, very dark window tint across the top of the windshield, etc. I know it can sound silly, but sometimes the simple answers are what fixes things.
