I have been looking at 2002 jaguar x-type 2.5 automatic for about 6 months now, after purchasing the car from a used car salesman, i noticed that it had some suspension problems that are going to cost me around 1,500usd to fix (parts found on e-bay and labor included). I say to myself okay no problem used cars are not perfect and justified the repairs. <-- Just FYI.
***
Now today after switching from sport mode into the regular automatic transmission (which i barley do, i have had the car for a little over a month) the yellow light and the error message came on saying, GEAR BOX FAILURE - NO CRUISE...
***
Jesus Christ.

Yellow Light
Gear Box Failure - No Cruise
-
^ above is the error message on dash ^
the car is driving fine, no gear change problems or anything at all.

update*
Okay, after calming down I read some more posts that i found on this forum and, I have came to the optimistic conclusion that it is the o2sensor.
My check engine light came on before shortly after i bought it and prompted me to take it to a jaguar dealer to have them inspect the vehicle and "they" said that the o2sensor was triggering my check engine light to come on along with a catalytic converter.
My car goes to my mechanic this Saturday so i am hoping i wont have any dash light or suspension issue's after this.
If I am leaving anything out please inform me on the specifics. Also I will state this is My first Jag.

I would state a year model and motor.
do you have an X-type or XJ.
Is your car driving fine or is the transmission starting in wrong gears or not changing at all.
Your asking for answers but have no specific question.
Have the codes pulled and post them, autozone does it for free.

i'll edit it so it will be of use.

sorry to hear of the issues your having. according to members here the most common transmission failure on your Jaguar is the transfer case, a better suited member will chime in eventually but look into the transfer case dilemna here on the forum and read others problems and solutions.
i personally havent read the details involving that so i wouldnt know if it throws the transmission fault code or what the symptons are.
what kind of suspension problems are you having ? 02 x-types have air springs and not regular dampers and springs ?
if regular dampers and springs aftermarket may be a better/cheaper solution. you can most likely swap them out yourself, or find a sideline installer to take on the task.
shocks and spring uninstall and installed usually take me around 3 - 4 hours with non professional tools and no lift. thats on my own, having a helping hand will greatly reduce that number.
