Default My hood ornament was finally stolen

So i left my car in the school parking lot,t he nice one for about 2 hours, i come bnack, the hood ornament is gone, with a few scratches in the paint, and now u can see stratght through inot the engine bay, i know who did it too, and the worst part is, if i tell he'll get his gangster freinds to beat me up, a few freind are going to comfornt him about but we ll see, and hes a drug dealer. **** my life. Now all the kids that had once admired my car, are staring at the empty hole in the hood.

Now, my question is hee, i know there have been preivious posts about this, but ill post it anyways, how much is it going to cost me, i still have the spring, and the litle chrome base still on the hood, how much is the leaper going to cost me.

Go onto ebay and search under 'leaper'. The first one I found is £38 or $62.

That sucks.
If your are 100% sure it IS him dont even think about throwing a tin of gloss paint with a loose lid through his window at 4am and if you see anyone trying to do this make sure you try to stop them!

Why not go with a badge for now? They are available at much lass cost. You can put the badge in place to cover the hole and take your time looking for a good deal on a leaper to put on once school is done. Leaper is really easy to install. But, you have to buy a complete unit with the spring still intact, not some leaper somebody has ripped off. It mounts by a peg in the small hole in your bonnet and a large nylon nut from the under side over the base mount. Is the base gone too? If so, the nut and spring should be in your engine compartment so be careful, you don't want it sent flying around by your belts/fan.

No, you aren't going to take matters into your own hands with this S#!+head. You want to, but be smart enough not to. The loser will get what he deserves someday. Let someone else get him.

I would love to go for a bage, but its not cheaper, they start at 67 bucks (the same as the leaper replacement), which im planning on buying and storing for a while. But yeas i wouldn't mind the badge through winter. And yess i hope he does get waht he deserves, like getting aids or h1n1, maybe teh ornament WILL selfdestruct and kill him lol.

Recently I saw an X300 ...I seem to hear you would say what's special with that lol
Well, what drawed my interest was that owner both installed a badge and leaper onto the hood . The badge was made for XKR (4.2 SUPERCHARGED )

welcome to my world. ive had a total of 8 leapers stolen off the hoods of my cars. i kept buying replacements off ebay (most likely people who stole them off other cars, *******s)

most likely the one you're going to buy has already been broken, you want to tie it down securely to the hood (so it doesnt get stolen again, so it doesnt bang on your hood if it gets loose). you're going to have to get clever and tie it to the hood latch with some metal wire.

next person that tries to steal it will have a hard time getting it

How does someone remove the leaper without opening the hood?

I bought my car with the leaper missing. I'm sorry to hear about your experience with jerkoffs.. Hopefully he'll get whats coming to him..

Anyways, I paid $50 (US) for a leaper. It was free shipping and looks good. It was easy to install as well. Seems like a real quality part.

Jaguar x Type Leaper Hood Ornament 1 Seller Risk Free | eBay

It shipped quick as well (If your from the US)
