Are my X-Type springs shot?

Are my X-Type springs shot?
So I've had the 2004 xtype 3.0 Saloon 108,000 miles for 3-4 weeks now and having fun with it. Here is a question for you veteran owners. When I accelerate from a dead stop, the rear end squats down a little with the power torque and then goes forward as expected. It's been along time since I've been in a car that felt that way. I find it fun but just wonder is that normal in a Jaguar xtype or is that indicating worn out springs? Thanks

Robin, I think what you are experiencing is fairly normal for any car. You normally don't feel it other cars as there is no power sharing going on. Not sure of what other vehicles that you have had, but with the 3L motor, it develops a fair amount of power down at the low end. So, this is going to only make that squat and go that much "worse".
Are your rear springs great and should not be considered. By no means. I am sure that over the years the springs are getting a little weak and will move a little more than they did when they were new. But, I remember that feeling in my X-Type. Now I get it all the more with the XJ and its power.

Thanks thermo. Yeah I found another post after I put this question out that actually used the word "squat" to describe the xtype and its rake stance so I guess it's typical. It's actually quite fun. I am taking my xtype to get it checked out by a specialist shop nearby so will find out if my suspension needs attention. in meantime it's nice to know this isn't an issue.
