It remains a mystery, I didnt even notice it the first month I drove mine around. A friend of mine pointed it out and said he thought it was cool cuz it added a hint of light to the front seat area. I pushed all the buttons around it but couldnt find one to turn it off...

Yeah its just more or less a mood light. I love that little light it's one of my favorite parts of the car. I noticed that thing as soon as I drove at night. I wish you could select between a bunch of colors of light though!

Yours should have the light, I think every x-type has one. My wife never even noticed the light until I made her put her hand under it and than she still didn't notice it. It's a very subtle light. Not sure how to remove the homelink and sunroof overhead console piece off of it to change color of the light. I just tried searching for a picture of it but I'll have to get one tomorrow and I'll post it on here. The light is located on the overhead console near the homelink.

Update: Sorry Buck I took about 8 pictures with my camera phone that are pretty good pictures of it but I don't have my bigger sd converter that allows you to save the pics to the cpu. I tried to text message the picture to my email but there is no picture attached to it. Soon as I can go home and get my converter I'll give you a picture.

the overhead console just pops out. start by pulling down the part closest to the front of the car as that is where the snaps are.

Ive got red interior lights in mine. In order to change the bulb you have to pull the whole cover off. Pull down on the front, closest to the front window with tender force till you release the snap clips, the back just slides right off, no clips. Bulb is the same as the backseat light, pretty standard.

Hey Buck I'm gonna go take a picture of the hole where the light is so you can see it, at least you'll get an idea of where it comes from if yours does have it?

Man that stinks for you guys. I don't understand why they'd make them in our north american cars and not yours? What years are your cars whom don't have the light?

The leaper is if not my favorite one of the favorite parts of the car! I miss having hood emblems on cars! I wish I didn't have the reflectors front or rear but oh well. I got clear side blinkers the same day or two after I bought the car though!

Mine is also a 2002 and - No light as far as I can remember, although I will double check first chance I get and get back to you ASAP.
I gotta say guys, I agree with Buck on this one - "Dont have the bumper reflectors or leaper either on ours (not bothered about the leaper though,or bumper reflectors either for that matter).
Pmsl @ Aquill - "Man that stinks for you guys." honestly mate I really am not that cut up about it.
