Default Navigation Screen

So i have been having the black navigation screen and i get the 50 and 51 numbers flashing so after searching threads it seemed i need to update my CD so I had my friend That i consider a tech guy burn me 3 different cds different files and different speeds and after trying all them 3 CDs nothing happens still stays black so i decided to take a look i noticed that the round plug which i am assuming its for the antenna refer to pic 1 and 2 was not plugged and I sure I am missing it the fact that is not plugged and missing the antenna will that affect the DVD Navigation Player? and is that round plug for the antenna? and I am assuming there no other piece missing in the whole set up i have like 3 lose connectors which again im assuming it was for a cd changer?? i just dont want to buy a new DVD Navigation Player if im missing something else they are not cheap

most of the time the dvd reader goes bad,but theres lots of variables ,first of try disconeting the battery for 10mins,if that does not work try a an original disk,or burn on a verbatim disk, last resort would be to replace the dvd rom,

If you know some one nearby that also has sat nav, try their disc.

If that works there are 2012 discs available from various suppliers for a lot less than Jaguar.

A hard reset ie pulling the battery leads off should take more than 10 mins, I suggest you leave the leads off for at least an hour. ( make sure you have the system code or the by pass code!
The other option is simply to pull all the leads from the DVD Drive and any CDC or other accessories at the back and then put them back! including the Fibre Optics remembering to put them back in the right order..

I don't know what the black round female connector is on the DVD drive but as fas as I'm aware nothing goes into it!

I assume it's the same unit as the UK, if you pull the power you need the code to re power ( the idea is that a crook would have problems getting it working again)

As I say, assuming that the case you should have a 4 or 5 digit code in the car docs.....
As the system will ask for it before it activates.....your dealer SHOULD be able to give you it with proof of ownership and the vin number of the car...............
If in real trouble there is a by pass code........which is a combination of buttons, get back to me if you need it as I can't remember it off hand.

Normally the US units don't need a code. YMMV

Actually, I did consider this but was just covering all angles..........

If I hadn't made the point and he ended up with the system looking for the code????

The more Scots in the mix the merrier......
