NEED HELP BEFORE DARRRRK! HID Install - UPDATE! INSTALL COMPLETE
I am holding two wires in my hands from the bulb, one hot, one cold. The stock headlight has two wires, yellow and brown. Now how exactly do I connect these wires to the factory harness? I'm completely lost!
I bought the kit that was recommended here off ebay, if that helps

i JUST spent about 3 hours trying to hook up the same kit but never got it to work. according to the directions, those wires (brown and yellow) get connected to the positive and negative wires that are on the same side of the rubber grommet as the new bulb. supposedly these give the power needed to the ballast to power up the new bulbs. i have emailed the seller already but dont expect a response until some time tomorrow. in the end i had to splice the factory connectors back in and use the normal bulb to have a headlight again.

Exactly. The sun is slowly going down but i'm determined to get these things in tonight, or at least in the morning. Luckily I don't have to go to work until 3 tomorrow afternoon.
I have the passenger side done, except wiring up those two hot/cold wires. I'm not sure which wire to use...Which is positive/negative? Brown or yellow? I'll test it and post results as i'm outside in the car right now typing this

what a difference a day makes. went out today, took everything apart, connected it all the exact same way and it works perfectly now. really wish there was a battery box on the other side to move out of the way, because that side was 10x easier to work on with all the extra room.

I'm guessing you mean vice versa, but no I didn't take any before pix [:@]. Compared to what they look like now in the pix, they were a nasty yellow.

Well it's was midday when I took the pix, which would explain why they weren't that bright. And they hadn't been on that long.
You couldn't tell that those weren't stock? I'm sure you've probably seen the stock headlights that aren't HID. They sure as hell don't look THAT white at all. I'll post some night pix later though.

All you need to do now is replace those horrible inner parking lights with some 194/5w5 LED bulbs and then you're good to go.
Speaking of pics, I still need to take some pics of my HID install. I'll take some tonight, I plan to wash my X.

that is the kit we both have. installation is easy. yellow wire is positive, brown is negative (power lines for the stock bulbs).

Nineball you gotta post some pix!
The kit was fairly straight forward to install. I'll do a write-up sometime this weekend or early next week on how to do it with that particular kit.
Oh and BTW, I went with the 8000k temperature bulbs, and they're plenty bright.

The one thing that upset me about that company (www.mydepots.com) is that their shipping on ebay is $55 and on their website is £32.37.
I tried to complain underebays rip off postage charges policy but itdidnt work.
My depots tried to say that the kit on ebay is different to their website as it uses cheaper resistors, capacitors, etc
I think this is bulls**t and even if they did use different electronics this wouldnt effect the size and weight and therefore shipping should be the same on ebay as it is on their website and not an extra $22.63!.
