Hi there,
I am a bit confused I have still have a P1647 code and trying to fix it. I called into garage on my way home and the mechanic said my 2.1 V6 2003 Jaguar has four 02 sensors two upstream and two downstream...
If I have a P1647 code which one do I replace? I thought it was the upstream one grey plug... How many 02 sensors does my Jaguar have? When I plug up my reader I see four options I can choose from some say sensor 1 bank 1 some say sensor 2 bank 2 ect...
Any help would be appreciative.

Here's a link to the JTIS X-Type Electronic Engine Controls PDF on my MediaFire account:

Page 5 illustrates the exhaust layout with the position of two H2OS heated Oxygen Sensors and two Catalyst Monitor Sensors.
The full document provides a useful explanation of all the monitoring components.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for the advice. Here’s the reading for my scanner... Can I assume that I should be getting readings from all four sensors?
02 Bank 1 Sensor 1 no date
02 Bank 1 Sensor 2 low switch 0.050 high switch 0.950
02 Bank 2 Sensor 1 no date
02 Bank 2 Sensor 2 low switch 0.050 high switch 0.950

I would suspect the accuracy of your scanner. If P1642 is reported, it is always accompanied by an additional code identifying the specific module at fault and this doesn't seem to be the case? The P1647 is still indicating an issue with the Bank 2 H2OS but this may also be a suspect code.

Hi all,
My codes update: I have an Autel MS509 scanner. The codes it pulled off were P1000 P1647 P1642
I took it to a Jaguar specialist who read the codes and came back with the three same ones... I asked him about my scanner and he says it a good little scanner that can read Jaguar codes.
I am having the sensor changed in the morning Bank 2 sensor 1 and hoping to clear the code P1647 also hoping the car will start and run a bit better, it is juddering and shaking at idle.
The Jaguar man said to me that all my components on the CAN-bus are talking to each other, he also believes that the P1642 fault is an artifact of connecting the scanner software to the CAN bus...
Any thoughts?
