Need help finding correct coolant
2002, Jaguar X-Type 2.5L (AJ-25) Base Model
Alright guys so today after getting my car to finally run it started to overheat where the warning indication came on.
Taking a look under the hood I noticed my coolant expansion tank was cracked again..
This is the second used genuine part I've installed and I'm just going to buy a new OEM part now.
Here's part of the problem, what kind of coolant am I really supposed to use?
I originally used the Ford Motorcraft "ESE-M97B44-A" Premium green antifreeze.
The online shop manual says to use "ESE-M97B44A" but another section says "ESE-M97B44-D"
One coolant is the traditional green in color, the other is gold.
I've lost a significant amount of coolant due to the expansion tank and I'm on a budget looking for a cheap compatible
aftermarket coolant such as Peak or Prestone. I've read on the ford forums that a compatible coolant
for the ford "ESE-M97B44-A" is the Prestone Extended Life meeting Ford's "ESE-M97B44-A" requirement.
Would using a product such as Prestone Extended Life from Walmart be a suitable substitute for
Ford / Jaguar's "ESE-M97B44-A" requirement?
Prior to doing my initial flush on the vehicle using Ford Motorcraft "ESE-M97B44-A" Premium green antifreeze
I had been using Pentosin Pentofrost SF Coolant to top off my original leaking expansion tank.
Are any of these fluids compatible?
Am I causing damage if I flush again using Prestone Extended Life
Did the Pentofrost SF cause any damage being the wrong type of coolant of a different color?
I've been told color doesn't really matter much since it depends on the chemistry of each manufacturer
as long as it meets or exceeds the requirements of the vehicle.
Any advice, I need to get a new tank by the next couple days and I need to know if I can use
cheaper coolant rather than buying expensive Ford Motorcraft coolant.
Thanks everyone!

"USE ONLY LIFE ENGINE COOLANT REF WSS-M97B44-D COLOURED ORANGE"
Mixing green with orange will cause a chemical reaction that gels up and usually causes plugged radiator and heater cores. I went to advance auto and found only 1 product that met this spec. I wanted a pre-mix to alleviate getting the exact correct 50/50 mix (coolant and distilled water).
