Default Need help identifying where these plugs belong

Hi All.
I acquired my 2006 Xtype Jag 2.1l after a mechanic could not get it running after replacing a head gasket, Long story short I found a Vacuum hose disconnected connected it and she started, then I discovered the knock sensor was Dead and have a new 1 coming, while pulling it down to get the knock sensor out, i discovered these 2 plugs not connected and can not find where they belong,
is there anyone who might be able to identify where they belong, the plug with the Green connector is running just behind the battery Box, and the Red plug was just sitting behind the Starter motor, I have searched am unable to find anywhere to plug them into.

Cheers for the help

The green one is probably the transit power plug, only used when cars were shipped and normally just docks into a holding slot on the battery box.....so no worries for that one.

The red plug is a bit more curious. Can you provide the wiring colours that are present into that plug?

If one wire is solid Red and the other is solid Slate then they are to the ancillary vacuum pump (located in front of the left shock tower).
The 2.1 V6 models were fitted with a vacuum booster to fortify the vacuum for the brake servo, as the design engineers were concerned that the 2.1 manifold would not necessarily develop sufficient vacuum under all circumstances to maintain the ideal brake servo operation.
However a TSB was issued that the vacuum pump could be disconnected and hose blanked off it the pump or controller failed as it was found in practice to not be required.

If the wire colours are different than red and slate, please post the correct colours. (generally most wires have two colours present on each....the main colour and the stripe colour)

H h202stream,
the wires on the red plug are green with black stripes, the plug is located in the middle of the engine bay towards the back.

Cheers

Looking at the schematic it possibly connects to the reverse lamp switch that is at the top of transmission.
Plug EN-85 is shown as having two Green/black stripe wires to it.

If I get a chance tonight, I will try to verify the plug on my 2005 2.1V6 model (currently at work).

Default Hose from top of coolant reservoir

Thanks again h202stream,

I have another query for you, I failed to take note of where this hose from the top of the coolant reservoir goes, can you tell me if it goes on the top of bottom connection in the picture please?

Cheers

Currently at work and the X-Type is sitting at home pending a rear wheel bearing replacement, so I will check tonight when I get home and reply.

Hi finnish,

Here is a photo of that hose orientation for you.

I also think I identified your two wire plug with Green/Black stripe wires and it appears to be just docked onto a place holder attached to the loom. It doesn't electrically connect anywhere on my model. Picture below.

Thanks again h202stream,

another question for you in regards to the coolant bottle, where I see the Max mark is that just on the Black where the clear plastic meets the top or do i fill it to the top of the max mark?
Cheers

h202stream,
is it an optical illusion in your picture of the Hose from the coolant reservoir your connections look to be side by side where mine are 1 on top of the other?

Thanks again.

Hi finnish,

Optical illusion, hose from reservoir is to top outlet.

Coolant level....it is a bit ambiguous...here is the instruction from the owners guide, not entirely clear I must say.
I would probably set the maximum level at the transition point from clear plastic to black top portion as this is done when engine is cold and the system will need to allow for coolant expansion.
