need help on removing rear cat
Hello
Just got the transfer case off--the output flange part that attaches to the drive shaft was the culprit--bearings were locked up an the gear was shredded--the other gears are fine--have the new one ready to go in but want to remove the rear cat and do the citric acid boil trick to try to get rid of the pesky p420 code.
Looking up at it I'm thinking you have to attack it from the top after removing the intake manifold. Just looking for some pointers.....
Also what should I torque the new case on the output flange nut--it turns but needs some force to start it.....

Ok the cat came off easy--of course the transfer case was off, but here it goes:
Remove intake manifold
Remove both O2 sensors
Remove three bolts securing the heat shield
Remove heat shield
Soak three bolts holding the cat with PB blaster or equivalent
Remove the three bolts holding cat
Took about an hour to do now just waiting for citric acid powder to arrive...
Looking in the cat it is definitely plugged up but the matrix is intact so will report back after I cook it....
