Default New Denso Nav DVD for 2004 X-Type

Today my wife asked me to perform an update on her Garmin. Me? I use my factory installed, (dealer replaced in 2011) Nav system and I have to ignore directions as many major roads have changed, etc.

I still have the 2003 Navigation DVD in my 2004.5 X-Type Sport. I would like to get an update. I see used 2008 DVDs and newer for sale of Ebay. I have been reading people's comments on other threads and have become confused. I am wondering if I must first do a firmware update or if this is something done 'automatically' during some type of process.

I read some people have success using Cadillac DVDs- I'm not looking to experiment. So I figured I'd ask. Thanks in advance.

Well, seems I had to do some homework here. I found out some interesting information with respect to the Denso navigation DVD. First I called an Internet Jag parts department and learned the new JAguar part number is 110070112.

Then I called Denso. I found out the last three versions for the X-Type are as follows:
2011-2012 (current): Denso p/n U0011-0070-112
2010-2011: Denso p/n U0011-0070-912
2009-2010: Denso p/n U0011-0070-812 or Jag p/n 1X43-10E898-BH

The 2009-2010 also has another number: 464110-7240.

I was looking to buy a used OEM DVD as I don't believe in 'walking a plank' by supporting software pirates…

I was going to bid on an Ebay DVD, but it seems there are none of the above parts numbers on the site at this time. If you order from Denso, or navigation.com, they have a free shipping promotion in a red link. I'm not going to bother with torrents or making or buying copies unless they are from legitimate sources.

Well, piracy and "warez" are different. Piracy is making copies and profiting from them, while "warez" is making copies and sharing them for free. You do realize that by buying second hand you are not supporting Denso any more than you would if you download it for free? :P I've read that some companies have actively tried to lobby outlawing selling products second hand because it's actually somewhat similar to "piracy"; a new customer gets the product without the company profiting.

The discs contain any necessary firmware update, I think the update is completely automatic too, just make sure the car doesn't lose power while updating.

I spoke with Denso today. I found a promotion link for free shipping which is better than nothing. I will not use pirated software nor had I heard of warez term before. Thanks for 'splaining to me. The 2003 disk has out lived its usefulness to me.

Got my new DVD from Denso today. I did not see any changes to the firmware as shown in pics by others. I simply ejected the old DVD in while the car was running & inserted the new DVD. I may have seen a message, "DVD being read" bada bing, bada bang and that was it.

What background colour did you have on the logo screen before the update? Did it change? Mine used to be dark green, became black after the update.

I see no difference. I noted some people noted a firmware change. I only noted the Map Version is 2011-2012.

The difference should be very obvious. Is it black now and was it black before? That would suggest either your early disk had that FW update already, or that your car has had a later disk in it at some point.

Here's the old green:

Yes! I needed to press the logo screen in the day light. It is now black compared to the old green one. Thank you.

Is there anyway to reverse the firmware and go back to the green logo? I actually liked it better than the black logo

Do you happen to still have your Jaguar Navigation Disc that you purchased in 2013? Part number U0011-0070-112. Thank you

Would you be willing to sell it or let me borrow it? My nephew's managed to lock his system up so I'm trying to get it back to life. Of course I would pay shipping if you sell it or let me borrow. Thank you!

I'm in Florida; I didn't realize you had to keep it in the player all the time. Thank you.

Justin, is your nephew getting the 50 &/or 51 error code? Black screen?

Yes, the screen is blank and some other functions not working either. Please let me know if you have a fix besides using the disc. Thank you!

Last page has the answer. After 220,000 views and thousands of repetitive questions and posts, the thread was locked with the answer given (more than once).
