Cayenne is awesome in performance wise but I have some doubts though whether it will be able to beat GMC Typhoon or not lol

The Cayenne S is the "base" model ....(lol)with a 0 to 62mph time of 7.2sec and a top speed of 150mph. Its brand new V8 motor sounds fabulous running through a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Turbo breaks still more ground for the category. It reaches 62mph in 5.6sec and will hit 165mph given sufficient space — it’s a superb engine, too, less aurally satisfying than the S but almost entirely lacking in lag and capable of providing quite brutal acceleration up to around 130mph.

NOOO Not for me thanks Caddie. Bad enough with Porcshe entering the SUV market. Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini etc etc.......these are all race bred marques.
Personally I think its sacrilage. There are a few here n there on the road, but, I don't think its gonna be extremely popular.
I certainly don't see too many of them around.

Lamborghini's LM002.... ( The Rambo Lambo ) as it was nicknamed......god it looks aweful...like a distressed Hummer!
This is supposed to be what the new version planned for release in 2009 looks like......Audi Q7 / Porcshe Cayennish?
Not for me thanks even if I could afford one!

Station wagons are great cars, I believe aguill...and they have caught on in recent years. They are more fuel efficient than SUVs, safer than SUVs, and just as roomy. A big part of the people who buy SUVs are stay at home moms, and they are also the majority of people who buy station wagons.
Maybe they aren't as popular as SUVs, but they still sell really well. Look at the A3 station wagon, x type estate, mercedes has one, almost all the suburus are wagons, volvos, ...alot of people buy station wagons, and I'm sure there is a porportion of cars sold to station wagons sold to SUVs sold...and since jaguars don't sell very well, and their station wagon doesnt sell very well, I doubt their suv would sell well either.
Plus, because Ford owns jaguar I think all the sales are kind of accumulated. If jaguar made an SUV it would just take sales away from Land Rover, and maybe ford wouldn't make any extra money off of it. I don't know exactly how the ford company works tho..I would hate if jaguar was to some how cause the end of land rover tho, cuz I love those cars so much.

I think "Cayenne" is a perfect name for that truck. It does remind me of a pepper. Things that go fast ought to be low to the ground. I just don't get why these high end car companies feel they need to make SUV's. Face it, most of them in up stuck in traffic with some chick driving them while filing her nails. And, to own an SUV and utter the phrase, "Don't jump in her with those dirty soccer cleats, young man" just shouldn't be allowed.
New market ad idea for Porsche: The Cayenne--we can even sell to soccer moms! Not just for mid-life crisis, middle aged white guys anymore!! (HA HA)

I say leave the companies to what they are good at. If you've ever seen a Rover car, you would know that it's a company that should stick with trucks. These high end SUV's (Lexus, BMW, Porsche) suck. Buy a Hyundai version, tape $50,000 to the dash and you have the same thing.
If you think they are missing the market, then combine the car lines when Ford sales and make it manditory to stock both lines on the lot. Don't getting engineers thinking outside of their realm. (I'm pretty sure that's how God came up with the camel. There's one screwed up design!)

From the Navigator, Escalade, Benz GL, Lexus LX, BMW X5(one of my personal favs), these are great cars. There's no comparison usually to even the badge engineered models these days because all are different in their own way, with the more expensive models being well worth the money.

That's the same thing everyone said of the Cayenne! Then when Porsche released the bitch and she did a 0-60 in 4.9 secs with a TT V8, everyone shut their mouth! If Jag makes a Twin Turbo'd SUV with AWD and 6 piston Brembo's on all four wheels, that makes similar numbers with a sub-5 0-60 and well over 500 HP...[sm=drooldude.gif]and obviously offer the more $$$ friendly V6 with around 300 HP...BOY ...Jag would take off just like porsche did!

I cant see jag building an suv because alot of jag dealers have incorporated Range Rover into their lots. So they are appealing to those that want both a luxury car and an SUV. Also my friends i think the golden age of the SUV is over. With high gas prices unless they start building all hybrids they will loose money. The market has already made a shift from suvs to family sedans.
