Hi Everyone!
Just picked up an 03 X-type 3.0L in green and cream interior, with 205,000kms give or take.
Unfortunately, its in a bit of shoddy condition regarding the interior and exterior. no log books, interior is dirty, front seats are both really worn, exterior clear is gone in several places from sunburn, and someone reversed into the front bumper as I was inside paying for the thing at a dealership. ( luckily a small mark but bar is definitely damaged ). No evidence of timing chains being done, no engine bay plastic undercover, so there is oil all over everything etc etc. ITS ROUGH. but it was $3000.
I come from the BMW family ( still have an E39 540i and an E38 735i parked in the garage... damn projects ), and I am quite capable of doing things on my own when it comes to part swapping.
I was looking for some advice from the community regarding sourcing parts and function so far.
So, Where are/is:
- Someone who has a few jags parked up, either at a wrecker or privately. Door cards are falling off driver door and driver side passenger door. Drivers seat has a massive tear. Steering wheel is completely worn. Prefer Australia/NZ to international sources
- Proven aftermarket parts source ( this can be international ). Suspension is on the way out as you would expect, Head unit could use an update, if facelift will work, and just acquiring basic replacement parts.
- the local Sydney Jaguar scene?
Thank you in advance.

Also, Fuel efficiency seems terrible .
That was using cruise control and mild throttle control on the highway, 100kms in either direction. When I filled it up ( immediately prior to getting on the highway ) the max range was only 400kms. I am aware that it only has a 65L tank, but surely freeway cruising in a 3.0L V6 ( engine feels fairly torquey to me ) would garner maximum 10L?
Being AWD it naturally is heavier around town.
Anything I should be checking?
