Hey everyone
I own & love my 2006 X Type but I have a problem,
when I press my acceleration my engine stops the power and EML keeps flashing, it’s like it can’t get enough air or fuel. I was told the switch for this could be unserviceable but I don’t know which switch or switch’s location. Can anyone help?

G Winters, because your check engine light is flashing, the amount of time you run the engine in this state should be minimized as the flashing EML light is saying that damage is being done to some part of the car. I would start with getting the OBD codes read. That should give us a good idea of whether we are talking about an intake problem or if this is a gas pedal/fly by wire issue. List the code(s) here and we can take things from there.

Hi Graham,
I see from your profile you have the Diesel 2L model and you live in the UK.
Does you car sit outside or is it typically garaged? You have just come through winter and out of spring there.
Has the car been getting regularly used, or has it been laid up at home due to COVID restrictions as the UK has been in significant lock-downs for months.
If the car has been idle for a long period and you are just bringing it back into use now restrictions are lifting, I am wondering if you have ended up with moisture in your fuel.
If the car has been used frequently and this is just an "out of the blue" fault that has occurred one day, then you may need to get the OBD fault codes read and list them on a reply to the forum so the "collective brain" can get to work on this issue for you.
