Odd Thing on Parent's Jag Today
I got a call from my mom this afternoon, her 2005 X-Type was stuck in a parking lot. She said my dad was in the car while she went into the grocery store, he wanted to listen to the radio and pushed the keyfob, then started dinkering with the dash. When she came out, the car wouldn't start. When she hit the keyfob to arm, all the doors responded except the driver's door. Lock/unlock was the same. Manually locking and unlocking the car with the door keyhole made no difference.
She called AAA, the guy tested the battery and the voltage was fine. The connections were tight. Then my mom heard the doors click. She went in the car and it started fine.
Any idea what could possibly have happened? Bad ground wire or something? Could my dad have armed the alarm, then dinkering with stuff inside cause the car to lock-up and shut down like that? My mom said waiting for AAA took about 15 minutes...could that have just let the computer reset or something after it was properly disarmed?
I'm in a total quandry and want to know if I should be looking at it or have it looked at the next time I visit them.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts and help.
