Oil drain plug leak

Yes you can, and since the engine has FORD roots, you might be able to get the bolt. I would call around to several stores and check on a drain plug. As far as the gasket, check in the "Emergency Fix" section in most auto parts stores.

The original oil pan drain plug has a rubber ring built into the plug. The drain plug does NOT need to be that tight but people do overtighten them or use a different plug without the rubber seal.
The dealer issues a new plug at every oil change but they can be used several times before the rubber becomes damaged or distorted.
Is the threaded area stripped????

I was the unsuspecting patsy in the "drain plug switcheroo" scam once. My '86 SAAB turned up with a "stripped drain plug" at the repair house, who, in a remarkable feat of mechanic strength, so they would have me believe, was able to "save" the threads in the pan actual, but, in the process, "lost" the threads on the drainplug actual. Coincidentally, the plug in this case was also an oil temp sensor, which has been impossible to replace so far. I didn't think to ask for the failed plug, but now realize that I donated it to their restoration project, maybe, or some VIP customer got it for his higher ranking machine. I have also lost a wonderful, long, star-head fastener, which pulled the sparkplug cover down onto the head. Even if it were to back itself out, which suddenly after 20+ years seems unlikely, it would have had no where to go. My car went into the repair house with two, and came out with only one.
Moral of the story: If anyone but you has been working on your car, you'd better start inventorying everything before and after you take it in, and get used to the idea of someone stripping or ripping. I'm sorry to sound so glib, but now I'm reminded of the Quicklube joint that must have harvested my really cool hex-head chrome valve stem caps off my pos '03 Trailblazer. They checked the tires and just kept them, I guess. Sorry to lay blame on the above folks when I didn't see them do it, but I didn't do it and you didn't either. Just shoot me.

Absolutely, it's almost that time. Come by the shop when you're here, or let me know where you'll be!
