caribbigd, we have been using full synthetic in our cars for a long time. No issues. You may notice that the minor oil leaks that you have may get a little worse because the full synthetic oil molecules are slightly smaller and therefore are easier to escape from the engine. But, this also has the advantage of being able to get into more spots and ensure the engine remains lubricated. Also, the synthetic oil molecule tends to also have a higher break down pressure. So, you can subject it to higher forces and the oil will remain in the critical areas.
If you want someone to explain the pros and cons of synthetic oil, the best person that I have found that has no ties to the oil companies is a guy that does a lot of his own testing and calls out the oil manufacturers.
