Hello all I have a problem that I’m having trouble figuring out. P0020 intake camshaft actuator open/short circuit bank 2. Car still runs fine and gives no problems at all. I’ve done some searching the internet and I keep coming back with the problem being the vvt actuator in the front valve cover being bad. I have swapped it out with another known good one from my parts car with no change. Erase codes comes right back in about a minute. I’ve checked the ohms on both and their both at I think it was 7.5 ohms. I unplugged the rear one while also having the front one unplugged and there is about the same voltage on both while the car is running. 11.3 volts on rear 10.9 on the front one. Again all while the car is running at an idle. Voltage at battery while running 13.3 and I also have a add on volt meter in the car that’s hardwired in and it also said 13.3. Any ideas as to where I should be looking to maybe solve this ? US 2002 3.0

Your ohms are within tolerance. Have you changed the oil recently?
the first two possible causes of P0020 are a problem with the ECM to VVT solenoid drive circuit wiring, or a problem with the VVT to ECM circuit ground. So it sounds like you still have a wiring problem. It could be corrosion on an electrical connector or on the associated ground/earth point.

I have about 3k on the oil change of which I have always ran 5k then changed it ( mobile one full synthetic). I had previously cleaned all the grounds or at least all that I could find under the hood maybe 20-25k ago when I had a headlight acting up. Where can a person find the bit that takes the bolts out of the ecm harness plug at the firewall ? I’ve tried all the auto parts stores and places like Lowe’s Home depo and alike
