Nope, I'll put it back and admire it every time I'm working under the car or getting the wheel off.

Little update, in case anybody wants to know: I managed now to remove the subframe as well. It did not have much rust on there anyway, but obviously by now it does not have any rust anymore. I then gave it a few puffs of black paint spray, and tomorrow it will give it a clear coat. Next, the plan is to suspend the engine on an engine-crane and pull the tranny onto my DIY tranny-lifter. I should be able to JUST pull it out from under the car sideways, as the subframe is now no longer in the way.

Peter, I think a good idea would be to ship me the beautiful shiny parts to me for testing. I promise to keep everyone up to date on how they are doing on my car...

I was told once, one should never stop dreaming.

Update & "more DIY inspiration for those, who never stop dreaming"...

I did what I wrote above and spay painted the TC with "Dupli Color High Heat clear coat". hoping the product does what is promises, namely that the ceramic particles in the paint allow for heat dissipation.

Also, as I was not done after removing the TC, I polished (with all kinds of power-wire-brushes) the tranny and spray painted that one with the same spray as the TC:

That's the dirty tranny just coming off.

Made shiny again...

And the same on the other side. Note that the torque-converter is not installed on this picture.
