I was doing the cv axles on my grandmother 02 jaguar x type and when I got to the passenger side the old one came out easy but the new one went in a bit of ways then got stuck I've tried taking it out ot wont but. Also tried banging it in it went in a little bit than stopped. So now I'm trying to figure out what to do. Can anyone guide me on how to get it back out or in??? Pleas

You may have buggered it if you pulled it out more than the maximum (quite small) amount in the Jag procedure.

The axle is separated at the inner CV and the long shaft into the transfer case is supposed to STAY in the transfer case!!
If you dragged the entire axle with the shaft from the transfer case, YOU SCREWED UP!!
If you removed the shaft at the inner CV, then the splines should line up and snap back in place.
There is a rubber washer that is supposed to go between the transfer case shaft and the inner CV.
Make sure it did not get pushed into the transfer shaft splines.
