Just replaced my PCV a few days ago along with the smooth breather hose to the ribbed version. The car has more power then I it has had in awhile. I never would have guessed how a gummed up pcv could actually rob performance but it was. Anyone who has not done so I highly recommend the quick change out. I am looking forward to seeing if the fuel economy increases as well.

Mr rx, first off, if you have a smooth PCV hose, it is a ticking time bomb. You will know that it is failed by disconnecting the one end and looking at the underside of the hose. Normally in the spot where it goes over a support bracket, the hose will develop a split in it running the length of the hose. When this is going, you will start getting vacuum leak codes (P0171 or P0174) and in extreme situations, you will be put into safe mode where you cannot rev the engine up beyond 3,000 RPM.
