bolt head in contact with pipe
Hi there ,
I want to share a quick post with you about a problem on my 2003 Xtype.
I'll Try to get to the point fast , I have for the past months heard a bump knock every time hitting a pothole. I went to the state park and needed to drive couple of miles under uneven dirt road. Going back home I lost power steering and after checking the container it was empty.
I found the returning pipe that goes to the fluid coolant was punctured by the head of a bolt ( pictures) and it happened slowly thru the years it was hitting the pipe until finally broke a hole on it.
In my case analyzing it I really believe it was wrongfully installed too close to the head of the bolt. I do not think is a problem for all but for the ones that it was installed similar to mine.
I hope it could help others be aware .
cheers
