RE: Pre-buy questions ('04 X-type Sport)
I think I'll do some more shopping around for better prices. The one feature that I MUST have is the stability control, and not all the X Types have them. The ones that do all seem to come with the other goodies, like navigation/sunroof that I really don't need (who needs a sunroof in New Mexico, anyway???!)
Thanks for all the feedback!

BOOOOOOOOOOJANGLESSSSS!!!! I never said I wouldnt take care of a companys car, but you dont give a **** about the car. There is alot of crap that goe son when your not in the car and its someone elses car man. You always put the postive side that yeahr its a 1 driver and all this **** man but you gotta understand chances of that happening is very slim. If you buya cooporate lease and you sell it in a few years and someone sees teh carfax, bet you 95% of the people wont buy it. And its not about the driver either its about maintence, owners like to be very cheap on repairing their cars. This is my opinion but I know for sure this is a GOOD opinion.

'04 is a great year for the X. In 04 they did some interior changes that made a world of difference in comfort. '03 an below only had one cupholder in the console, and if you've ever tried to use a 4dr car with only one cupholder you'll get the message quick.
The heated seats buttons were moved up to the top of the console above the climate control beside the hazard switch which is both a place where they are more easily accessible, but less likely to be damaged.
The steering wheel controls changed, the woodgrain was changed, the exterior got a new set of wheels which were miles away from the 03 wheels IMO. They look FAB. They keyhole was changed for the trunk lid. The gauges were changed in the dash to eliminate the green overlay to a more universal black and silver.
Some of these 04 features showed up on mid year '03s, but to get it all you had to get an 04.

So then just go and buy a 02 x-type with 150k everything can be fixed. Ecact same point. Also Select doesnt cover EVERYTHING MAN! There is no point in arguing on this subject. COOPORATE LEASE= SALVAGE/REBUILT title to me.

Here's the bottom line:
A corporate lease is probably a car that has one driver, or very few drivers. Corporate leases usually have maintenance agreements with the local dealer or service shop in the area to get all maintenance done on the car(s). I know because this is exactly how we handle the small fleet of GM cars that we have.
Comparing a rebuilt/salvage title to a corporate lease is absolutely rediculous. Is that grey matter inside of your skull functioning???? I realize you're young, but geez. Making generalized statements about subjects that you apparently have absolutely no clue about is getting pretty annoying, to say the least.
Corporate lease cars are driven by adults, not irresponsible teenagers that don't care about property that doesn't belong to them. And why would any responsible adult trash their company car?

Amen Spartan.
salvage/rebuilt/repurchased title is completly different from corporate lease.
And who said select pays for everything? Select happens to be the best extended warranty for Jag. If the price was right for an 02 x with 150k on it I would buy it. It all depends on your own preference. I can work on them myself so it can all be fixed. If you have to pay to get it fixed then the situation is different, and you would probably not buy it.
